Light
This series focuses on the beauty of light pollution.
Modern society has become increasingly concerned with the effects and intrusion of light pollution. In the images, the point at which the natural environment and this man-made phenomenon converge has been captured. The series shows traditionally idyllic, secluded spaces unnaturally lit by the light emissions of nearby towns. The light pollution reveals what would otherwise be shrouded in darkness. In turn, heath land, forests and beaches are shown bathed in an ambient yet entirely artificial light, creating richly saturated, abstract and serene compositions. The work aims to challenge perceptions of light pollution by presenting it as a beautiful integration with the natural landscape.
